Preparation of Weight Loss Tea

While coffee is popular world wide it has reached epic status in the United States in the last decade. This is surprising considering the fact than many different types of tea are available and offer numerous health benefits not offered by coffee. There are numerous types of slimming tea of which green tea is the favorite. Tea seems to be making a come back in the United States and it may soon share a similar status as to that which it enjoys across the rest of the world.

The US has long been hypersensitive to health so it is always surprising that things we know to be healthy can take so long to catch on. The Chinese have been using green tea as a weight control and corner stone of medicine for centuries. And now as we are starting to study these benefits Americans are learning what has been known in the east for generations.

Since the time of Christ green herbal tea has been prepared in a similar fashion which involves exposing gathered tea leaves to air, this is done until excess moisture in the leaves has evaporated. This must be done in a very dry environment to avoid mildew and to maximize the speed of the process. Next, the leaves are roasted over, what has traditionally been a wood burning fire.

The dry leaves are moistened after roasting and rolled into balls which are subjected to very high pressure. This process flattens the tea and forces any remaining moisture out. The pulverized leaves are then roasted over a charcoal fire under steady motion to avoid burning. The process is complete when the leaves reach a dull deep green color. At this point the tea is ready grading, packing and final processing.

Due to the complex process of preparation there is a lot of room for differentiation which has lead to many different kinds of tea. There are weight loss teas, teas for relaxation, flavored tea, and a tea for every ailment.

Weight loss tea is becoming more widely recognized and utilized in the United States as the numerous health benefits are recognized. It must be noted that while there are amazing health benefits to green tea proper diet and exercise are essential for long term weight management.
