Three unique ways to help with weight loss

Let’s  face it – losing weight is an ongoing battle. So how can we approach this battle in a different way and with new strategies? Here’ s three diverse ways to tackle the old age problem of weight loss.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT
The corporate world is coming to understand that productivity is not just about time management but about energy management, What is energy management? Energy is a personal resource that affects our ability to not only succeed but cope with life. Energy is a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual fuel that can be depleted. When our energy reserves are expended we tend to not do well in life. What does this have to do with weight loss? People often over eat and under exercise when they are energy depleted, especially when their emotional energy reserves are low. Refueling your emotional energy by taking the time to enjoy a hobby or spend time with a friend then gives you the strength to say no to sugar laden foods or go out for that needed walk.

DOWNTIME
We live life at a frenetic pace today. Hectic schedules often allow little time for an essential element of life that also assists with weight loss. This element is downtime. Taking time out to relax with a good cup of coffee or a more exotic drink like green tea slows you down, makes you reflect more about life and what you really want from it. I think people who take regular downtime are more likely to succeed in their weight loss goals than those who sprint from one activity to the next.

BREAK THE RUT
Often we get into a food and drink rut when endeavoring to lose weight. Try something different like protein bars or homemade cooking. Switch from diet sodas to carbonated water. Sprinkle apple cider vinegar on your salads to add spice without calories. Ditch the coffee. Try some Oolong or green tea, and an added benefit here is that when you drink green tea weight loss can also occur. Whatever you try, just break the rut!
